Okay, so to get this blog rolling if anyone checks it... do you think you were born an infp, and if not, how did you become one? or, do you think it matters.
JustMe said... I was thinking about this the other day. Though not an infp, I have a friend that says she is one type at school due to some bad experiences and another type in other situations. I believe I have always been an INFP; I certainly was not taught to be one from my family. For a while, I had thought maybe public school had raised me well, however, lately I've been thinking maybe I was just born this way. Perhaps it depends on where you fall on the scale and how you interpret the experiences in your life as to whether you remain one type or move to another, maybe it depends on where you start out on the scale.
As a kid I had some of the INFP traits, but I was more a cross between an ENFP and INFJ. I think my mum is INFJ and my Dad ISFP, so I think I did everything I could to please them, which molded my personality.
It was only as I got older and lost my precociousness that my INFP-ness came to the fore. I'm not sure what happened. Puberty I guess. The most important thing is that I have always been an NF and that's what defines my personality the most, especially the N.
